How did your classes differ from those you have taken at CSULB?
Program Testimonials
•   Linguistics; Literature and History. They differed in language, it was all Spanish. Teaching styles were somewhat similar, but there is not a s much emphasis on teacher/student relationships. They didn’t seem to be as helpful.

What was your housing like and how much did it cost you per month? How easy was it to arrange?
Program Testimonials
•   I lived with a host mom, who lived very close to campus. Her name is Adela Cruzado and she is registered at the university as a host mom. She provides housing for 2 students with their own bedrooms, but a shared bathroom. Adela had her own bedroom and bathroom. Three meals a day. Adela was always kind and respectful of my space. She always made sure I had enough to eat and was very hospitable. It was $340 a month. Also a maid came Mon-Fri, named Rosie. She was very kind-hearted and cheerful. The only housing available are host families, or you could try to find an apartment to live in with some other students. There are no dorms on campus. Costs usually average between $320-340/mo.

How much money per week did you spend on food? Transportation? Personal Expenses? Travel?
Program Testimonials
Food and Personal Expenses: Included in housing cost, but going out with friends can be about $40 a week
I took about $5,500 but would recommend $6,000 to have extra wiggle room.
Transportation: Around $18 a week
Travel: Around $75 a week

What were your experiences with the language? Did you feel you had enough language preparation?
Program Testimonials
•   At the beginning it was hard, but the base I had from Spanish in high school and college helped. The hardest part is just being confident in what you’re saying, but that’s only at the beginning. As you make friends and people help you out, it becomes second nature.
