Course: ETEC 525: Digital Culture and Society

Approximate Travel Cost: $1,500

Course Description: Critical examintation of social and cultural implications of educational technologies, considering issues of cultural bias, equity, and questions of who benefits from particular technologies. International applications of computer technologies to promote learning about different cultures. There will be a week of activities with Costa Rican university students and faculty. In addition, students will meet colleagues in Costa Rica for purposes of planning joint educational activities of mutual interest.  Students will also visit cultural and geographic sites of interest.

This is a CSULB short-term, faculty-led study abroad course.

A limited number of $750 travel stipends are available for short-term programs.
