Button - Overview
Carlos III University of Madrid recently celebrated its 20th anniversary during the 2009/2010 academic year. While it is a relatively new public institution, it has achieved a reputation for academic and research excellence as well as one of innovation and internationalization which attracts top researchers, faculty and students from Spain and around the world. Carlos III offers a wide range of possibilities for research, teaching or studying on any of its 3 beautiful campuses located near the city of Madrid.
2 Button - Fast Facts

Please note- You must have a valid passport in-hand to be considered for spring admission. Those without a passport valid at least 6 months after the end of the study abroad term of interest may only apply to study abroad at UC3M in the fall.

Due to the competitive nature of this location, we require all students applying to study on exchange to UC3M also submit a completed application to a back-up institution.

3 Button - Academics
Students may take courses from any of the subjects taught at UC3M. Classes designated as "Spanish" are instructed completely in Spanish. Classes designated as "Spanish, English" can be taken in either language.

You can find the complete list of courses and majors here.

To determine the CSULB equivalency for Spanish course credits divide the credits by two (e.g., 6 Spanish credits equals 3 CSULB units).
4 Button - Housing
Click here for information about accommodation at UC3M.
5 Button - Financing
Students who are eligible for financial aid may apply their award package to most semester or year long study abroad programs. Students are also eligible for either need-based subsidized or unsubsidized non-need-based federal direct loans. A list of alternative student loans is available in the CSULB Office of Financial Aid (BH-123).

Additional financing information can be found at this webpage.

Amazing, 5 minutes from the center. I used Easypiso.com and Idealista.com to look. I recommend the area of Malasana for Madrid (metro stop Noviciado). It was 380 for a small room with a window (you need a window), in a small, 4 bedroom apartment.
