What's Included
CEA offers a wide variety of services and amenities, Below is a list of what is included in your program price.
This program is designed for students at all Spanish language levels who wish to take courses across a variety of disciplines to learn about Spain’s history and culture, and about the region’s economic and political environment. Choose courses taught in English or Spanish, comprising a mixture of complementary courses ranging from traditional elements of Seville — its architecture, food, and customs — to current social, political, and economic aspects of this global community. Purposeful interactions with the local community are available via opportunities to shadow local teachers and participate in extracurricular activities to increase community and language engagement.
With a population of less than 1 million, Seville offers a down-to-earth lifestyle and relaxed cultural experience. Located in southern Spain, Seville is considered the guardian of all that is traditional in Spanish culture. Seville boasts a pedestrian-friendly,a centralized historic district that’s, among the largest in Europe. Renowned as the birthplace of flamenco, Seville also is home to stunning architecture, including the Alcazar palaces and the world’s largest Gothic cathedral, La Giralda.
Engage in true Seville culture through a myriad of traditional Spanish activities, including bullfighting, flamenco dance, and festivals, such as Semana Santa and Feria de Abril. Terrace cafés where people meet to enjoy their afternoon café con leche line the streets; you can join them to practice your Spanish. Sunbathe by the river banks, then relax at a local tapas bar where you’ll enjoy good food and conversation after a day spent strolling through the shaded, winding alleyways of the Barrio Santa Cruz, the old Jewish quarter.
