Course Description: This course examines global migration from the 1700s-present, analyzing how migration shapes and is shaped by economic, politics, policies, identities, cultures, and mentalities throughout the globe. As a study abroad course, we will examine these issues while traveling in Costa Rica, one of the major migrant host countries in Latin America. Students will meet with migrant and refugee groups and learn about changing immigration policies in the region.
