Program Description:

International Education
XJTU started the international education in 1959 and is among the first batch of universities assigned by the Ministry of Education to cultivate overseas students with Chinese Government Scholarship. In 1991, a specialized department for teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language was established in XJTU to develop Chinese language teaching program. In 1999, Xi’an Jiaotong University Scholarship was founded. In 2007, Bachelor’s Degree program in Chinese Language was set up. In 2013, XJTU was rated as “Model University for Overseas Education” along with Peking University, Tsinghua University and other 22 universities in China due to the outstanding performance in the number of cultivated overseas students, teaching structure, quality, management, development speed and so on.  
 
Started in 1995, XJTU has become the first university to develop English-medium MBBS program for international students in China.
 
Currently, XJTU has 62 English-medium Master’s programs and 7 English-medium Bachelor’s programs offered by 12 schools. There are more than 2400 international students from 132 countries such as America, Pakistan, France, Italy, Turkey, Russia, Iran, Kazakhstan,Nepal, India, Thailand, and Republic of Korea, among which over 400 students enjoy Chinese Government Scholarship.
