Games Technology Track:
Prerequisites: Prior experience in programming, preferably in C, C++, C3 or Java.
Visual Communication Track:
Prerequisites: Basic design skills like sketching or painting and the handling of Photoshop and Illustrator or comparable tools.

Academic Credit
Students are required to take the equivalent of 15 CSU units per semester, in addition to the 6 unit Preparatory Language Program (PLP).]

Cost
Students pay the same tuition for Germany: Advertising, Media & Design at Stuttgart Media University as the tuition paid for their home CSU campus. For more information on costs, including accommodations, travel and other expenses, see the Budget Estimates above.
Program Dates
CSU IP students spend an Academic Year abroad on this program. The traditional German academic cycle begins in early August and ends in July.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Germany: Advertising, Design, & Media at Stuttgart Media University is associated with Stuttgart Media University (Hochschule der Medien) located in the state of Baden-Württemberg. Stuttgart Media University prides itself in its modern approach to applied studies and boasts modern facilities that students utilize to further their studies.
The program begins with a six week Preparatory Language Program (PLP) in horb, a small town near Tubingen. PLP courses offer instruction in German grammar, reading, writing and conversation and often include cultural excursions. After the PLP, students move to Stuttgart to continue an intensive language course during orientation week at the university. In addition to the PLP, all students are required to enroll in a German Language course that is incorporated into the curriculum for each track for both semesters.
LOCATION
Stuttgart is located in the state of Baden-Württemberg between forests and vineyards in an urban community in Southwest Germany. Stuttgart is a cultural city that has made a name for itself through its renowned State Opera and ballet programs, and the exceptional art collections at the State Gallery and the Gallery of Stuttgart. Additionally, the many parks that make Stuttgart one of the greenest cities in Germany.
HOUSING
Housing is coordinated by CSU IP staff in Germany. Students typically live in dormitories and will be notified of their dorm options during orientation.
