About the University of Haifa

The University of Haifa, established in 1972, has a diverse student population of over 18,000 and the largest university library in Israel. CSU IP students study at the International School, an interdisciplinary department within the University of Haifa. The International School offers courses taught in English in subject areas such history, Jewish studies, literature, Middle Eastern studies, peace and conflict studies, political science and psychology. In addition to the courses taught in English, students with sufficient Hebrew language skills can also take courses in other departments of the university.

As the Israeli university with the highest percentage of Israeli Arab students, the university offers both Hebrew and Arabic language courses. CSU IP students must take at least one Hebrew or Arabic language course each semester. Instruction is offered at all levels to accommodate students from beginner to advanced language levels. Students take a placement exam upon arrival to determine their level.
